HALACHA OF THE WEEK:BEDIKAT CHAMETZ WHEN PESACH IS ON SATURDAY NIGHT According to the Shuchan Aruch [Orach Chaim 444:1] that when Erev Pesach falls out on Shabbat, bedikat chametz [the search for chametz] is performed earlier than usual on Thursday night.
While in other years, if a person performs bedikat chametz prior to erev Pesach a bracha is not recited, this year since biur chametz is also performed a day early (Friday) the bracha is recited as usual - "al bi'ur chametz" [Mishna Berura 436:4]. Following the bedika we formally renounce and nullify the chametz ("bittul"), as is done in ordinary years (Taz, 444: 7; Mishna Berura 444:1).
One who did not perform the bedika on Thursday night should search for chametz on Friday morning, with a beracha. If he neglected to conduct the bedika on Friday morning, he should not search for chametz on Shabbat. (However, if the electric lighting suffices for a search, he should search for chametz even on Shabbat! [Rav Rimon, Erev Pesach she’Chal b’Shabbat p.38).
DVAR TORAH The Jewish people were commanded several times about Shabbat:
At Marah - "There He established laws and decrees" [Shemot 15:25];
At Mount Sinai - "Remember/Observe the day of Shabbat to sanctify it" [Shemot 20:7; Devarim 5:11];
Last week we read - "However, you shall observe My Shabbat... Observe the Shabbat... Let labor be performed during six days, and the seventh day is Shabbat." [Shemot 31:12-17]; and
This week - "For six days shall you perform labor, and on the seventh day... it will be Shabbat" [Shemot 35:2].
 Why was all this repetition necessary?  According to the Or Hachaim, the answer lies in the fact that following last week’s command, the Jews worship the Golden Calf - a sin of idolatry - which according to our sages “is comparable to all the other mitzvot combined." [Mishna Horayot 8:1].  As a result, the Jews were not only guilt of a terrible sin, but that sin cancelled out the mitzvot they had fulfilled. Therefore, the Jews were commanded to observe Shabbat, which also can be compared to all the rest of the Torah (see Zohar, Beshalach 47:1). Shabbat serves as the foundation of our faith, in memory of the creation of the world and the redemption from Egypt - which can purify a person’s soul and help help perfect all the other mitzvot that we do.
